San Diego Day 2

Monday (Day 2)
We woke up bright and early on Monday to get ready to explore the San Diego Zoo! We liked our hotel but it didn’t have many food places around so we left early to try to hit up a pancake house on the way to the Zoo. Unfortunately we got there and it was packed with a waiting line so we decided to just drive to the Zoo and eat in the park when it opened. That ended up being a great choice because the food place opens before the park so we got some food and took pics before it was actually time to see everything.

The San Diego Zoo really is all that it’s cracked up to be! They have sooo many animals in amazing enclosures! Some of our favorites were the crocodile, polar bears, gorillas, red panda, and giant pandas. They also have a dogs and cheetahs in the same enclosure, which was pretty cool! They are companion animals and do really well together. They also had a donkey and zebra together.

They have a gondola ride that takes you high in the air from one side of the Zoo to the other. They only let 4 ride at a time so we had to split up. Trav took Carly and I took the boys. The boys were hilarious because they were absolutely terrified and both clung to me the whole ride haha

So, people feed the squirrels there so they aren’t very scared of humans. We ran into a particularly aggressive squirrel and I was a little nervous haha Trav had to shoo it away.

We ended up seeing the whole Zoo and had time to spare so we went back to check out some of our favorites like the crocodile, gorillas, and monkeys (who had been asleep in the morning). We saw the crocodile the most! It was pretty freaky how still it was! We saw it move about a foot and then go back into a still resting position. A man was taking a picture of it so I told Chance to stay out of the way. The man asked if he could take a picture of Chance with the crocodile haha and less than an hour before that, an Asian woman asked if she could take a picture of him and then touched his hair haha! We need to start charging money! $$$

The kids were pretty worn out but Carly and Coleman were both able to nap in the stroller during the day, which was really nice. The kids picked out their souvenirs. Chance picked a gorilla and Coleman picked a blue monkey.
